Hello,

We have now planned our programme for February 2025. It is attached. I hope you agree with me that it is an interesting and stimulating collection of contemporary and historical topics. We have been successful in securing Professor Tony Clayton from Bangor University as our after-dinner speaker and he comes with an excellent reputation. Please look at the programme to see our wealth of Parliamentarians both Welsh and British combined with those academic faces both familiar and new.

In the past I know from Graham’s experience that LGS members have had the habit of booking last minute. Can I warn you now that both accommodation and society weekend spaces are limited to about 35 due to the size of the venue. We have restrictions on that, I’m afraid. So we will have to cut off attendees after this. That’s why I am encouraging you to book now.

This year, also, the LGS will not be organising or collecting for the accommodation. This you can do directly to the Commodore, via their booking service which is shown on Form 1. Therefore you will need to fill out one of two forms:

  • If you are planning to stay at the Commodore use Form 1
  • If you are planning to stay elsewhere or only be a day visitor(s) then please use Form 2

Hopefully the form will work as required but if you have any problems please email.

I look forward to seeing you in February for our exciting programme of events.

Yours sincerely,

Professor Russell Deacon
