Russell Deacon, the Chair of Cymdeithas Lloyd George/Lloyd George Society, has recently sent out an email to our members:
“Dear Members,
We’re proposing to hold our next weekend on Saturday–Sunday, 7–8 March 2026, with an option to stay over on the Friday night. The event will follow our usual format, with an additional option to extend into later Sunday for lunch and another panel. We have checked as best we can that this date does not clash with any major political and sporting event but can never be certain.
We’re delighted to say we’ve found a new venue, with the help of Anne Woods, called: Lake Country House Hotel & Spa, Llangammarch Wells—around 20 minutes from our previous venue in Llandrindod Wells. It’s widely regarded as one of the finest resorts in the UK, offering 5-star accommodation, food, and overall facilities. A slightly later date for the weekend also gives us more daylight for travel—sunset is about 6:00 pm on the Sunday, compared to around 5:15 pm in our former February slot. The venue has rooms for those with mobility issues and all of the events are accessible.
To help us shape the weekend to your preferences, please complete the short questionnaires

If you are coming as a couple please feel free to send in your own versions of the questionnaire.
Kindly reply by 3 September 2026. Once we have got the replies, we will go ahead with organising the speakers and the overall structure of the event.
If you wish to be removed from the Lloyd George Society mailing list let me know.
With best wishes,
Professor Russell Deacon”
