A Liberal History of Montgomeryshire – online talk

One hundred and forty years ago Montgomeryshire people were up in arms against high rents, discrimination and unfair taxes. It led to the rise of the Liberal Party and over a century of Liberal and Liberal Democrat MP’s.
Welshpool Town Councillor and former Montgomeryshire Party Chair, Richard Church, talks about the personalities that have represented Montgomeryshire for over 100 years and the impact they made, both nationally and locally.
The picture here is of Clement Davies, the MP for Montgomeryshire from 1929-1962 and Leader of the Liberal Party from 1945-56.
This is a talk open for all – you don’t have to be a member of the Liberal Democrats or the Lloyd George Socety, all are warmly welcomed.
