Exhibition about Lloyd George at Cardiff’s Pierhead Gallery set to open on 16 January

An exhibition about the life and work of David Lloyd George will open at the National Assembly’s Pierhead Gallery in Cardiff Bay on 16 January. The exhibition is to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great Welsh prime minister on 17 January 1863. The exhibition, sponsored by William Powell AM, has been organised by Professor Russell Deacon, Chairman of the the Lloyd George Society, and will show likenesses of Lloyd George and other leading Welsh and British political contemporaries of Lloyd George and his family. Visitors will also be able to view political cartoons and biographical information as well as portraits drawn by the Welsh political artist Dan Petersen.
Part of the exhibition space will be devoted to the work of the Lloyd George Society.
The formal opening of the exhibition by Professor Chris Williams of Swansea University will be on Wednesday 16th January 2013 at 12.30 p.m. upstairs in the Pierhead Building, Cardiff Bay and the exhibition will remain open until the end of the month.
