Join us for a celebration of Britain’s last Liberal prime minister – on his 150th birthday

David Lloyd George was born on 17 January 1863 in Manchester. Brought up in the Caernarfonshire village of Llanystumdwy under the tutelage of his uncle Lloyd he went on to become Celtic Radical, Welsh Nationalist, Champion of Nonconformity, Liberal MP for Caernarfon Boroughs for 54 years, Author of the People’s Budget, Prime Minister and The Man Who Won the War.
Other activities and talents earned him less sympathetic epithets, the Goat, the man who knew everyone’s father (or mother), recipient of cash for honours, the man who praised Hitler.
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Lloyd George, the and the National Liberal Club are organising a joint reception (7.00pm) and dinner (7.30pm) at the Club on 17 January 2013. After dinner there will be talks about Lloyd George from Professor Lord Kenneth Morgan and the Right Honourable the Lord Wigley.
