LLOYD GEORGE STATUE UNVEILED BY PRINCE OF WALES

The long awaited statue of David Lloyd George was unveiled yesterday in Parliament Square by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. The official party included Prime Minister Gordon Brown and former premiers Margaret Thatcher and John Major. Prince Charles was patron of the appeal trust committee which was formed to commission the statue in recognition of Lloyd George’s great contribution to British public life and the Welsh dimension he added to British politics.
