Lloyd George Society Marks 40th Anniversary

2025 marks the 40 years since the founding of the Lloyd George Society.

To mark this, we have a full list of speakers for our annual weekend school at the Hotel Commodore in Llandrindod Wells, which takes place on the 22nd and 23rd February.

Our school pulls together speakers from politics, academia, religion and others from outside politics. Our Weekends often have members of the audience from all political parties, including former MPs.

This year, we have the following speakers:

David Chadwick MP – Welsh Liberal Democrat MP for Brecon, Radnor & Cwm Tawe & Spokesperson for Wales.

Ann Davies MP – Plaid Cymru MP for Caerfyrddin.

Mark Williams – Former Welsh Liberal Democrat leader and MP for Ceredigion.

Adam Price MS – Plaid Cymru’s Spokesperson on Justice in the Senedd & Former Leader of Plaid Cymru and MP.

Michael Meadowcroft – Former Liberal Party MP for Leeds West and historian.

Dr Charles Smith – Wales European Movement.

Dr Luca Trent – Assoc. Professor of International Relations at Swansea University.

Professor Tony Claydon – Bangor University

Dr Jonathan Kirkup – Senior Lecturer at Cardiff University

Lord Thomas of Gresford – President of the Society, Welsh Liberal Democrat peer and spokesperson on Wales and Home Affairs.

Reverend Dr Richard Walker – Church of England/Wales, U3A member, former prison chaplain and police officer (Inspector).
