To mark the 130th anniversary of the election to Parliament of David Lloyd George at the Caernarvon Boroughs by-election of 1890, the Lloyd George Society, together with the National Library of Wales, is planning an event at the National Library in Aberystwyth on the afternoon of Saturday 14 November 2020.
There will be a talk about Lloyd George’s pre-parliamentary career and the events of the by-election itself by Professor Russell Deacon, Chairman of the Lloyd George Society, an exhibition of materials from the Welsh Political Archive and we will be inviting a second speaker to explain what has become of the Welsh radical tradition in which Lloyd George campaigned.
Bookings will be made through the National Library. More details will appear when we have them.
We hope that the current Corona virus restrictions will be lifted in time for us to finalise the arrangements for this event but we will be keeping the position under review with the National Library.
