Widening the scope of the Society – two new Vice Presidents

T
he Society is delighted to announce, following a decision at the 2013 AGM to try and widen the political scope of the Society, that Labour peer Professor Lord Kenneth Morgan and Plaid Cyrmu’s Lord Dafydd Wigley have agreed to become Vice Presidents. Lords Morgan and Wigley were our guest speakers last year at the Society dinner to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of David Lloyd George and we are honoured that they have both now joined us formally as Vice Presidents.
Professor Morgan is the leading authority on David Lloyd George, having written biographies of him and many studies of Welsh and British politics in the late 19th and 20th centuries. His latest book, will be published by the University of Wales Press in September 2014.

Lord Wigley was MP for Caernarfon (Lloyd George’s old seat) from 1974-2001. He was also member of the Welsh Assembly for Caernarfon from 1999-2003 and a former President of Plaid Cymru.
