Sesquicentennial anniversary of the birth of David Lloyd George – 17 January 2013

The statue of David Lloyd George in Parliament Square will be the focus for celebrations of the sesquicentennial anniversary of the birth of Britain’s last Liberal prime minister on 17 January 1863. Roger Roberts (Lord Roberts of Llandudno) has organised a series of commemorative events for LL.G’s 150th birthday to take place on the afternoon of 17th January 2013.
Society members are invited to attend the following programme of events:

14.00 Commemoration ceremony at the David Lloyd George statue in Parliament Square.

15.00 Service of celebration in the Chapel of St. Mary Undercroft, Westminster Hall (with Elinor Bennett, harpist, the Gwalia Male Voice Choir and others).

15.45 Reception in the Jubilee Room, Westminster Hall (with harpist, choir and tributes).
Speakers will include Wales Office minister, Baroness Jenny Randerson; former Secretaries of State for Wales, Lord Morris of Aberavon and Lord Hunt of Wirral as well as the former Presiding Officer of the National Assembly, Lord Elis-Thomas.
