Heroes and villains of the Welsh Liberal Party

In honour of the late Lord Richard Livsey, Professor Russell Deacon reprised elements of the talk he gave to the 2011 weekend school in a special lecture at the Telegraph Hay Festival in May. Richard Livsey was a well loved vice-president of the Lloyd George Society and was also a vice president of the Hay Festival. Professor Deacon has a book on the history of Welsh Liberalism coming out later this year to be published by Welsh Academic Press. His lecture at Hay cherry-picked some of the heroes and villains of the party over the years. Lloyd George no doubt qualified on both counts.
There is a brief report of the talk at: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/hay-festival/8540558/Hay-Festival-2011-Russell-Deacon-on-the-Welsh-Liberal-Party.html
