It is confirmed that the next weekend school will be held at the Commodore Hotel, Llandrindod Wells between Friday 15 and Sunday 17 February 2008. The Society will have exclusive use of the hotel (except of course for the public bar).
SPEAKERS
Some attractive speakers have been announced for the school. Chris Huhne MP will speak at the Saturday evening dinner. Vince Cable MP has agreed to talk on economic policy. We are also very pleased to welcome back distinguished Welsh historian Lord Kenneth Morgan to give us a talk about Lloyd George and his foreign policy. John Campbell will speak on “Who owns Britain?” and we are hoping to find a suitable speaker for a talk on the highly topical issue of the proposed Severn Barrage. We will give details of further speakers and subjects as they are slotted into the programme.
COSTS
The whole weekend will cost £115 per person.
Full weekend other than Friday night and Saturday breakfast will cost £64.
If you do not require accommodation, Saturday lunch will be £10, dinner will be £15 and coffee/tea will be £3 per session.
Registration fee will be £10 per person (£5 to members), irrespective of the length of stay, unless you wish to attend for the Saturday dinner only in which case no registration fee will be payable.
If you are a member of the Society, you should probably have received your booking form for the school (subject to postal strikes of course).
